ARTIST SERIES #13

Artist Glen Garioch 1988

Glen Garioch is one of Scotland’s oldest distilleries. It was founded in 1797  by Alexander Manson a few kilometres from Aberdeen. Equipped with 3  onion stills, Glen Garioch was the first distillery to heat its stills with gas  in 1972. The new make has not been peated since the 1990s, but in re cent years small batches of smoked barley have once again been produced.  Glen Garioch draws its water from the beautiful burns in the Percock hills,  also located in Aberdeenshire. These burns are particularly rich in minerals,  which contributes to the depth of the flavor of the whisky.
