ARTIST SERIES #15 Benrinnes 25 Year+

The Artist #15 range, The Dark Side of the Moon, explores the profound influence of Andalusian sherry maturation through six single casks distilled between 1989 and 2015. Featuring malts from Speyside (Benrinnes, Linkwood, Mortlach, and a mystery distillery) and the Highlands (Ben Nevis, Ardmore), the series ranges from Oloroso to Pedro Ximénez finishes. The title pays homage to both the 1970s rock classic and a legendary 1990s Velier Glen Grant series, bridging the gap between historical tradition and modern curation.

The collection is visually defined by South African artist Sthenjwa Luthuli, whose contemporary Zulu-inspired aesthetic transforms hand-carved, painted wooden panels into hypnotic, optical compositions. Notably, the artwork for the "Dark Side of the Moon" bottling is sourced directly from Luca Gargano’s private collection, symbolizing the deep intersection of fine art and rare whisky within this release.

Selected for the Artist #15 range, this single cask spotlights the Benrinnes distillery, an icon nestled in the heart of Speyside. Founded in 1826 as Lune of Rurhrie, the distillery survived a tumultuous century marked by floods, multiple bankruptcies, and a devastating fire in 1896. After a complete rebuild in 1956, Benrinnes earned its legendary status for its unique partial triple distillation method, a practice it maintained from 1966 until 2009.

This specific bottling captures the distillery's resilient spirit, showcasing deep, mature tertiary flavors and a complex aromatic profile. Despite its age and maturation, it has perfectly preserved its natural malt character—a testament to the enduring quality of this historic Speyside heavyweight.
