Since its founding in 1753 in the heart of Trelawny, Hampden Estate has stood as a bastion of authentic Jamaican distilling. While its history spans centuries, a new era began in 2009 under the Hussey family, marked by a commitment to aging rums directly on-site to capture the true essence of the estate’s tropical climate.

True to its heritage, Hampden continues to use the same "wild" methods that define the Trelawny style: extended fermentations with indigenous yeasts and 100% copper pot still distillation.

This 2019 edition marks a historic "world premiere" for the Habitation Velier range: the first LROK (Light Rum Owen Kelly) to be aged entirely in Sherry casks. Falling within the distillery’s 200–400 gr/hlPA mark, this expression balances the legendary Jamaican funk with the deep, dried-fruit influence of the sherry oak.
