ARTIST SERIES #15 Ben Nevis 10 Year

ARTIST SERIES #15 Ben Nevis 10 Year

The Artist #15 range, The Dark Side of the Moon, explores the profound influence of Andalusian sherry maturation through six single casks distilled between 1989 and 2015. Featuring malts from Speyside (Benrinnes, Linkwood, Mortlach, and a mystery distillery) and the Highlands (Ben Nevis, Ardmore), the series ranges from Oloroso to Pedro Ximénez finishes. The title pays homage to both the 1970s rock classic and a legendary 1990s Velier Glen Grant series, bridging the gap between historical tradition and modern curation.

The collection is visually defined by South African artist Sthenjwa Luthuli, whose contemporary Zulu-inspired aesthetic transforms hand-carved, painted wooden panels into hypnotic, optical compositions. Notably, the artwork for the "Dark Side of the Moon" bottling is sourced directly from Luca Gargano’s private collection, symbolizing the deep intersection of fine art and rare whisky within this release.

An ode to sherry cask maturation, this exceptional young single cask serves as the vibrant opening act for the Artist #15 range. In the late 19th century, Ben Nevis was so highly sought after that a second distillery, simply named ‘Nevis,’ was built on the same site in 1878 to keep pace with global demand. The two eventually merged in 1908, preserving the legacy of the original 1825 estate.

Wonderfully embodying the unique West Highlands style, this bottling is defined by a generous and authentic character. Its flavor profile evokes the spirit of an Andalusian grape harvest, delivering intense fruit and a vivacious, deeply expressive temperament that perfectly marries Scottish grit with Spanish soul.
